Best Places to Visit Each Season

Here’s a list of travel destinations categorized by each season based on the weather, scenery, and unique seasonal experiences. I list warm places to travel year-round near the end of the post. Here are best places to visit each season.

A. Spring (March – May)

The Spring is the perfect time to see flowers bloom and mild weather.

  1. Kyoto, Japan – The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Kyoto during this time. You can book a tour to see the temples in Kyoto in the spring as well as go to the iconic tea houses.

  2. Amsterdam, Netherlands – Tulip season is here so be sure to book a day trip to see the Keukenhof Gardens. It is the perfect weather for a bike ride along the canals of Amsterdam. Don’t miss visiting the Anne Frank Museum if you love learning about history.
  3. Washington D.C., USA – The National Cherry Blossom Festival is held from March 20 to April 12, 2026 next year. The monuments light up at night time and that is also quite beautiful to see.
  4. Paris, France – In Paris, there will be fewer crowds, so it is an ideal time to visit.

  5. Seville, Spain – Be sure to attend Feria de Abril, a week-long colorful festival with flamenco dancing in the Spring.

  6. Belize – The dry season is from December through May. So go during Winter or Spring to Belize. You can go snorkeling in the Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef. You can also see the infamous mayan ruins or go cave tubing.
  7. Vietnam– The dry season in Vietnam generally spans from November to April.

B- Summer (June – August)

Best for beach trips, mountain escapes, and festivals.

  1. Santorini, Greece – There is nothing like summer in Santorini, from relaxing at Perissa Beach to island hopping along the crystal clear blue seas to different islands. The stunning sunset at Oia will be forever remembered.

  3. Iceland –You will get to see the Midnight sun and go on scenic road trips throughout Iceland during the summer.
  4. Bali, Indonesia – The dry season is from April to October. Bali is one of the most unique travel destinations in the world. There is so much to do in Bali during the dry season in summer from swimming in the tropical beaches to exploring the temples made out of volcanic rock. Don’t forget to go to the monkey sanctuary and see the rice terraces in Bali!
  5. Lake Como, Italy – Lake Como is a beautiful place to travel in Italy during the summer! You can even stop at Milan on your trip.

  6. Cusco, Peru- Cusco has a dry season from May to October. Don’t forget to book a day trip to see Machu Picchu.

C. Autumn (September – November)

The Autumn is a great place to find stunning fall foliage, harvests, and fewer crowds.

  1. New England, USA –The fall foliage in New England is beautiful. Fun activities in New York or New England during the fall are pumpkin picking, apple picking, hay rides, corn fields, and haunted houses!
  2. Bavaria, Germany – Munich has one of the biggest festivals in October called Oktoberfest, where you can drink delicious beer all day long and dress in their traditional outfits.

D. Winter (December – February)

The winter is the best for snow sports, cozy retreats, and festive cities.

  1. Zermatt, Switzerland – The skiing and gorgeous views of the Matterhorn in Zermatt during the Winter are incredible.

  6. Costa Rica-The dry season is from December to April in Costa Rica. You will find beautiful beaches and rainforests to explore.
  7. Thailand (Phuket, Krabi) – The dry season in Thailand generally runs from November to early May. Phuket in Thailand is warm and popular for beach resorts year round.

E. Warm Places Year Round

Here’s a list of warm destinations you can travel to year-round, where the temperature is typically pleasant (mild to hot) even in winter months. These spots are great for beach vacations, outdoor adventures, or simply escaping the cold:

1-Caribbean-

  1. Aruba – The dry, desert-like climate has sunshine almost every day.
  2. Barbados – Barbados has great weather year round and is a beautiful tropical island to visit. Don’t forget to go on a rum tasting tour, swim in the turquoise beaches, and stay at a hotel with an infinite pool!
  3. Turks and Caicos– Tropical year-round, with modern cities and beaches. The average temperature is in the 80’s with palm trees and turquoise beaches!

2- Africa

  1. Morocco (Marrakech, Agadir) – Morocco has hot summers and mild winters.
  2. Egypt (Cairo, Red Sea resorts) – Egypt is warm and dry, even in winter.
  3. South Africa (Durban) – South Africa has a subtropical coastal city with beach-friendly weather.

3-Oceania

  1. Fiji – Fiji has a warm and humid tropical climate, perfect for island hopping.

5- South America

  1. Colombia (Cartagena, Santa Marta) – Tropical and warm, with Caribbean beaches. Don’t forget to book a Rosario Islands tour and see the old city wall.
  2. Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) – Rio de Janeiro is warm year-round. The best things to do are to go to the Christ the Redeemer statue, sugarloaf mountain cable car, and see the seralon steps.

6-U.S. & Territories

  1. Hawaii (all islands) – Perfect year-round weather.

  2. Florida Keys – Florida is sunny most of the year.
  3. Puerto Rico – Puerto Rico is U.S. territory in the Caribbean. It is warm year-round. There is no passport needed if you are a U.S. citizen! There is a rainy season, but it is quite mild.
  4. Southern California (Palm Springs, San Diego) – Southern California has mild winters and sunny days year round.
