15 Countries to Add to Your Bucket List

I absolutely love traveling, and my new goal is to visit 50 countries. I have seen 35 countries so far and have 15 left to visit. The world is a beautiful place, so it was hard to narrow down the list. Here are the 15 countries I would love to visit.

#1: Australia-

This country is home to some of the most dangerous wildlife in the world and is one of the most unique destinations to explore. I’ve already booked my trip to Australia. My best friend Ari has already organized the adventure and I am so excited! Our plans include visiting Melbourne and embarking on an exciting road trip from there. We will drive along the breathtaking Great Ocean Road and see the twelve apostles. Our last stop will be seeing the adorable penguins at Phillip Island. Below are highlights of our upcoming adventure:

  • Explore Melbourne: Queen Victoria Market, National Gallery of Victoria, Street Art, Coffee Shops, State Library of Victoria
  • Wildlife: Koalas, Quokkas, Kangaroos
  • Phillip Island to see the Penguins
  • Great Ocean Road- Loch Ard Gorge, Twelve Apostles

#2: New Zealand-

After traveling to Australia, our next stop is New Zealand, which I am also super thrilled to see. Highlights from our trip to New Zealand will include going on a glowworm caves adventure to seeing the infamous Hobbiton.

#3: Malta-

Malta has cobblestone, narrow streets and beautiful architecture along the stunning Mediterranean Sea. Another bucket list experience in Malta is to swim at the Blue Lagoon, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters.

  • Explore the ancient city of Mdina
  • Visit the Blue Lagoon on Comino Island
  • Discover the Megalithic Temples

#4: Amsterdam, Netherlands-

Going bike riding in Amsterdam, home to canals, bridges, and gingerbread houses, sounds like the perfect adventure. I would book a visit to the Anne Frank Museum to learn about her life and the history of World War II.

  • Visit the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum
  • Go on a canal cruise
  • Stroll through the Jordaan neighborhood

#5: Brussels, Belgium-

Trying the famous Belgian chocolate, seeing the Royal Palace of Brussels, and booking a day trip to Bruges and Ghent from Brussels are things I look forward to experiencing.

  • Visit the Grand Place
  • Explore Atomium and Mini-Europe Theme Park
  • Taste Belgian waffles, chocolates, and beers

#6: Germany-

Exploring the castles and medieval towns in Germany, like Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and the vibrant city of Munich sounds like a dream.

  • Visit Neuschwanstein Castle
  • Drive along the Romantic Road
  • Walk along the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie

#7: Prague-

Prague has Gothic-style cathedrals, like St. Vitus Cathedral, and cobblestone streets that I would love to visit and explore.

  • Walk across Charles Bridge

#8: Copenhagen-

I have heard great things about Copenhagen specifically near the area of the Nyhavn harbor. Going to waterfront restaurant or cafe in the area sounds like a dream.

  • Discover the National Museum of Denmark
  • Explore Nyhavn Harbor

#9: Argentina-

I would love to go to Buenos Aires, the capital city, to experience its culture and see a tango show.

  • Enjoy a Tango Show or Experience
  • Explore Iguazu Falls

#10: Antarctica-

I would book a cruise from Argentina to Antarctica, one of the seven continents. I would love to see the icebergs and witness the wildlife, such as penguins, seals, and orcas in the area. I would also enjoy taking a kayak ride in the icy waters of Antarctica!

  • Explore Scientific Research Stations

#11: South Africa-

Something special about South Africa is that it is located along the coast. You can hike to Table Mountain, take a cable car to the top, visit nearby wineries, and enjoy a safari ride in the region.

  • Go on a Safari in Kruger National Park
  • Visit Cape Town and Table Mountain
  • Discover the Cape of Good Hope

#12: Japan-

Japan has been on my bucket list for the longest time. I would love to see the temples and tea houses in Tokyo and Kyoto, as well as visit the bamboo forest. Another amazing adventure would be to travel to Okinawa. The fresh seafood and sushi sounds delightful.

  • Relax in an Onsen (Hot Spring)
  • Explore the Tokyo Tower, Meiji Shrine, and the bustling Shibuya Crossing
  • Discover historic temples such as Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and the Fushimi Inari Shrine

#13: Thailand-

Thailand is a fascinating country in Asia that I would love to visit someday, from exploring the bustling cities like Bangkok to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai, and witnessing the incredible gold temples. I would also love to visit an elephant sanctuary.

  • Explore Bangkok’s Grand Palace and Temples
  • Relax on the beautiful beaches of Phuket, Krabi, or the Phi Phi Islands
  • Experience Thai Cuisine and Culture

#14: Vietnam-

Vietnam is home to rice terraces and the famous Ha Long Bay. Going on a boat ride through the mountains and the clear emerald waters of Ha Long Bay would be a dream come true.

  • Discover the Ancient Town of Hoi An

#15: Singapore-

Singapore, located in Asia, is one of the most amazing cities in the world, known for its impressive skyline and the best airport, Changi Airport.

  • Discover Marina Bay Sands and the SkyPark
  • Explore Sentosa Island
