Belize faces the Caribbean Sea and is in Central America. The country is home to incredible Mayan ruins and the second-largest coral reef. Below is how to spend 6-days in Belize. Since we are on a time limit, I recommend booking day tours on TripAdvisor, from snorkeling to exploring the Mayan Ruins and Cave tubing.

When to Visit Belize?

There is a rainy and dry season in Belize. So, if you do not want to get poured on, we recommend going to Belize from November to mid-April.

Where to Stay?

I recommend staying along the coast in Belize City because it is where Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport is. There are so many tours you can book directly from Belize City. You can book a cave tubing and Mayan Temple day trip from Belize City! You can even go snorkeling in the Belize Barrier Reef from this location. How exciting?! If you extend your trip, consider traveling to Ambergris Cay, the largest Island in Belize off the Coast of Belize City.

Hotel in Belize City:

I recommend staying at the Great House in Belize City, only a 20-minute drive to the airport and near every water taxi to travel to the Islands of Belize.

Hotel in Ambergris Cay:

We recommend staying at the Pelican Reef Villas Resort! WOW, the views are incredible.

About Ambergris:

Ambergris is 25 miles long and is THE perfect place to relax and enjoy beachfront views. The best beach is called Secret Beach. The most common ways to get around the island are by golf cart or bicycle. The Island’s main town is called San Pedro, which has cobblestone streets, colorful restaurants, and upscale hotels. If you want to skip Belize City and go straight to Ambergris Cay, BE MY GUEST 🙂

Tips:

-A US Charger will work just fine in Belize.

-$1.00 USD is = $2.00 BZD.

-The best way to get around Belize is by water taxi or car. Taxis and rental cars are the most hassle-free mode of transportation.

-You can stay up to 30 days without a Visa.

-A passport is required.

This tour includes transportation to and from The Great House. This 5-star rated excursion on Viator costs $176.00. You will go to a Mayan Temple called Atun Ha, Cave Tubing down a river, and Zip Lining in the jungle all in one day! This tour begins at Belize City at 8 am and is six hours. Bottled water, transportation, and lunch are all included in the fee.

Altun Ha: Altun Ha is an ancient Mayan site that functioned as a trading post for centuries and features 13 temples.

Cave Tubing: Cave Tubing Adventures begins with a hike in the rainforest. Then you start your journey through the Caves of Belize in your singular tube.

Zip Lining: Zip lining is a great experience, especially if you love the adrenaline rush and are not afraid of heights.

Day 3: Relax at the Pool or Beach-

We recommend sleeping in, getting breakfast, and relaxing at the pool or beach on day 3.

Day 4: Belize Barrier Reef Snorkel with Nurse Sharks-

Have you ever dreamed of swimming with SHARKS? Well, now you can! You can swim with nurse sharks, sting rays, and MORE on this Shark Ray Alley Tour on Viator!! This tour is an excellent way to experience the infamous Belize Barrier Reef. Book your tour!

Day 5: River Cruise to See More Mayan Temples or Howler Monkey and Beach Trip

Option 1: River Cruise to Mayan Temples-

The River Cruise will take you to Lamanai Temples, Ancient Mayan Palaces, and the Lamanai Museum. You will spot wildlife on the river cruise, including birds and monkeys.

Option 2: Howler Monkey and Beach Tour-

You can feed the local monkeys on this tour! The monkeys will be in their natural habitat. You will enjoy the rest of your day swimming and relaxing at a beautiful turquoise color beach.

Day 6: Pool and Fly Home Travel via Water Taxi to Ambergris Cay

Ambergris Cay will be a perfect beach trip. Feel free to ONLY stay at Ambergris Cay if you are looking for a more relaxing trip with fewer activities and MORE pina coladas haha. As I stated previously, we recommend staying at the Pelican Reef Villas Resort! But you can compare hotels on TripAdvisor or Booking.com to find a hotel that meets your needs and budget.

Day 7-9: Relax at the Pool/Beach for the remainder of your trip
