When to Visit? The best time to visit Antarctica is during the austral summer, from November to March. The weather is milder, with temperatures that range from around -2°C to 8°C. The sea ice begins to break up, allowing for better access to various parts of the continent. The penguins, seals, and whales are more active and visible. It is also the best time for activities, including kayaking, camping, and wildlife watching.

Dress in Layers- The weather in Antarctica can be VERY cold and unpredictable, so be prepared with layers of warm clothing, including a waterproof jacket and insulated boots.

-Stay Hydrated- Drink plenty of water while visiting Antarctica, as the dry air and high altitude can lead to dehydration.

-Protect Yourself from the Sun- Despite the cold temperatures, the sun in Antarctica is strong because of the reflection from the ice and snow. Be sure to wear sunscreen to protect yourself from UV rays.

-Follow the Rules: Antarctica is a delicate and pristine environment, so it’s important to follow all local rules and guidelines to help preserve the ecosystems, including not disturbing wildlife, not littering, and staying on designated paths.

-Book a Guided Tour: To make the most of your visit to Antarctica, consider booking a guided tour with an experienced operator who can provide insight and expertise on the area’s history, wildlife, and natural surroundings.

-Be Prepared for Seasickness: The journey to Antarctica can be rough and choppy due to the strong winds and currents in the region. If you are prone to seasickness, be sure to pack medication and other remedies to help alleviate symptoms.
