My Experience:

I went to Turks and Caicos in November 2019 with my good friend, Natalie. We did incredible things like trying the local conch meat and horseback riding in the turquoise water. Listed below are my top five reasons to visit in hopes that you will also go and see the beautiful islands for yourself!

Reason #1: Things to Do!

A. Horseback Riding

-Horseback Riding- The world is full of magical things waiting for our senses to grow sharper. This throwback epic experience did just that. Wow, we had the time of our lives, as we were able to go horseback riding in the turquoise-colored beautiful ocean. There were little to no waves. Horseback riding was a fun, unique, and calming experience that I highly recommend. The island has many small stables offering rides along the beautiful beaches. Provo Ponies is the oldest, most popular place where you can experience this activity with friendly, professional tour guides.

B. Jet Skiing to La Famille Express

La Famille Express Shipwreck

-Jet Skiing- Jet skiing in Turks and Caicos is a thrilling activity that anyone can enjoy. You can rent a jet ski outside any beach resort in Turks and Caicos or book this Jet-skiing and Shipwreck Tour.

-Historical Boat- The famous La Famille Express shipwreck in the Turks and Caicos should be added to your bucket list of things to do. This landmark is located about two miles off Long Bay Beach. On this epic tour, we were able to see wild dolphins. They let us jump off of the old, rustic boat.

C. Snorkeling / Scuba Diving

-Snorkeling / Scuba Diving – Snorkeling and free diving are excellent ways to experience the underwater world. The Big Blue Collective team knows where and when to go.

D. Parasailing

-Parasailing– This parasailing tour allows you to enjoy the breathtaking turquoise view of Providenciales from your parachute as you parasail in the sky.

E. Glow Worm Sunset Cruise

-Glow Worm Sunset Cruise- Watch the bioluminescence of glow worms on a spectacular sunset cruise from Providenciales! Did you know? For a few evenings after the full moon each month, the waters of Caicos Banks play host to this natural phenomenon. Thousands of glow worms emit green light in the shallow sea just after sunset in Turks and Caicos.

F. Kayaking / Paddle Boarding

-Kayaking / Paddle Boarding- Go kayaking and explore the Princess Alexandra Nature Reserve and discover the coastal ecosystem of mangrove wetlands, small sandy cays, and beautiful beaches with your friendly and knowledgeable guide. You can even go paddle boarding. Paddleboard guides and instructors teach the basics before heading out into the mangroves.

G. Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing– Turks and Caicos is the ideal location for kitesurfing due to its calm, open water, winds, and perfect weather.

H. Cliff Jumping

-Cliff Jumping- Cliff jumping exists at Pirate’s Cove. It is a small hike to get to the slit rock. Pirate’s Cove Address: South West of Providenciales, TKCA 1ZZ, Providenciales

I. Sailing at Sunset

Sailing at Sunset- Watch the beautiful Turks and Caicos sunset on a 2-hour cruise from Grace Bay, Providenciales, while you enjoy a glass of champagne.

J. Hiking

Hiking– There are few established trails that have hidden hazards in Turks and Caicos. The limestone coastlines often have many hidden holes and crevices. Different areas of the Coast consist of iron shore or sharp black limestone. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes. Bird Rock trail is the only official hiking trail on the island.

Reason #2: Meeting the Locals

The people are warm and inviting. They are relaxed and friendly and generally operate on “island time”, resulting in a low-key, slow-paced environment.

Reason #3: Traditional Food

Conch Meat

Conch shells are beautiful and found on almost every beach and are also very tasty. We witnessed the entire process at ‘Da Conch Shack’ on the beach.
