6 Best States to See in the USA

6 Best States to See in the USA

The United States has more fascinating places to see than you would think. My favorite states of the 27 I have traveled to are Florida, Utah, Arizona, New York, Nevada, and California. I am going to list the best things to do in these States! If you want to track how many states you have traveled to, I recommend downloading the App US States Visited! Below are the 6 best states to see in the USA.

#1: Utah-

Utah is a unique place to visit, with incredible landscapes that make you feel like you are on another planet. From exploring Arches National Park to soaking it up at the Mystic Hot Springs or going to Zion National Park, you will never be bored. You have to visit BRYCE CANYON! Bryce Canyon is a sight that everyone should add to their UTAH bucket list. I can go on and on about how incredible this place was.

6 Best Things to Do:

1-Arches National Park-

There are 2,000 natural sandstone arches to discover at Arches National Park. I highly recommend hiking to Tower Arch, Delicate Arch, and Sand Dune Arch.

2-Mystic Hot Springs-

The Mystic Hot Springs in Moab are open to visitors 24/7! All you do is show up and soak it up in the natural hot springs!

3-Zion National Park-

#2: Arizona-

Arizona is another state with unimaginable landscapes, including the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon! The best hike in Arizona is Camelback Mountain. Do not do the hike if you are afraid of heights!

6 Best Things to Do:

1-Grand Canyon-

The Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular examples of erosion. No photographs or descriptions can ever represent the timeless beauty of the canyon.

2-Antelope Canyon-

This geological formation is one not to miss and, in my opinion, looks even BETTER than the Grand Canyon. You have to book a tour to go to the Antelope Canyon. The canyon was formed from years of water and wind erosion.

3-Camelback Mountain-

Located 20 minutes from Pheonix, Camelback Mountain reaches 1,420 feet with a 360-degree view of the surrounding city. This is NOT a beginner or easy trail. TURN AROUND if you are feeling scared or uncomfortable.

4-Horseshoe Bend-

Horseshoe Bend, 20 minutes from Antelope Canyon, is where the Grand Canyon begins. No trip to the Grand Canyon is complete without seeing the Colorado River from this lookout point!

5-Desert Botanical Garden-

The Desert Botanical Garden is one of the most spectacular gardens I have ever been! You will find INCREDIBLE desert plants like towering cacti and succulents.

6-The Wave-

The Wave should be on your bucket list because of the AWESOME formation that the rocks make; however, you have to win a lottery to hike to the Wave. Your chances are low. I entered the lottery and never was able to go!

#3: New York-

New York is iconic and a must-see at least once in your lifetime! You need to see the hustling and bustling area in Times Square, an INCREDIBLE Broadway Play, relax at Central Park, and go to the TOP of the Empire State Building.

6 Best Things to Do:

1-Empire State Building-

New York is the city that never sleeps, and Times Square is the place to be. It is the commercial and cultural heart of New York City. You will find FABULOUS Broadway shows in the area!

4-Broadway Play-

If you are wondering which Broadway Play to go and see, I recommend WICKED! The iconic play put me in tears because the actors and actresses are so talented.

5-Comedy Show-

Comedy shows are live in New York City every night of the week! So be sure to buy a Comedy Show ticket next time you travel to New York.

6-Central Park-

Central Park is a relaxing place to stroll along a beautiful lake. If you go during the summer, you can row a boat along the river.

#4: Nevada-

Nevada is a gorgeous state home to the Las Vegas Strip with extravagant hotels! Do not forget to explore the incredible hotels, including the Bellagio Hotel. At the Bellagio, you have to see the infamous fountains and gardens. The best show I went to in Vegas was the O! The O is also at the Bellagio Hotel!!!! I am in awe of the Wynn Hotel and the Flamingo Hotel, so be sure to add these two hotels to your list of places to see in Vegas. Vegas is most known for GAMBLING!! If you are winning, remember to STOP playing and take the money!! You will end up losing it all if you keep playing. After exploring the Las Vegas Strip and gambling, book a tour to see the 20 Magic Mountains!

6 Best Things to Do:

1-20 Magic Mountains-

The 20 Magic Mountains is a beautiful exhibit that features gigantic, colorful rocks reaching 30 feet high. The boulders look as though they are defying gravity.

2-Gambling-

Gambling is exciting and entertaining, especially inside the magnificent hotels in Vegas!

My favorite hotel to stay and gamble is at the Wynn Hotel.

3-Bellagio Fountains and Gardens-

The Bellagio fountains sour 560 feet above a beautiful lake that dances to music thanks to engineered choreography. The gardens are free to visit and are absolutely beautiful.

4-The O-

I loved the synchronized dancers and well-trained aerial acrobatics! The O show was phenomenal! I recommend buying a ticket for anyone who goes to Vegas!

5-Horseback Riding at Red Rock Canyon-

Red Rock Canyon is naturally beautiful! You will be amazed by the incredible rock formations and vivid colors. What better way to see the Red Rock Canyon than on a horse at sunset?

6-Las Vegas Strip-

You can not travel to California once and think you have seen it all because the list of places to visit in California is LONG! You can kayak at Lake Tahoe, stroll around Old Sacramento, or see the fascinating sites of Los Angeles, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the infamous Hollywood Sign. Wine tasting in Napa Valley will be the time of your life, so add it to your California bucket list.

6 Best Things to Do:

1-Wine Tasting in Napa Valley-

Gain a better understanding and appreciation for different wines in Napa Valley! Book a wine tasting tour!

3-Hollywood Sign-

4-Hug a Redwood-

Who does not want to swim in the beautiful beaches, relax in the white sand, admire the palm trees, and go on an airboat tour to see the wildlife in Florida? WOW, that was a mouthful, but FLORIDA is the perfect getaway destination!

6 Best Things to Do:

1-Swim at the Beautiful Beaches:

There are so many beaches to swim at in Florida. The best ones are in Miami, Sanibel Island, Sarasota, Fort Lauderdale, Key West, and Tampa.

  • South Beach in Miami

Where to stay?

I recommend staying at an Airbnb in Dania near Fort Lauderdale Beach, Las Olas Blvd, and Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. The Airbnb we picked had FREE bikes to use! You could bike ride to Hollywood Beach! The LUXURY rental property had a nice pool, hot tub, and outdoor area. I do not have any complaints about the Airbnb we stayed at because of the cute decorations, luxury rooms, and traditional kitchen. It felt like a home away from home. When deciding where to stay, PLEASE read the reviews!

Address: 207 SW 11th Street Dania, FL 33004

You can also find a place to stay on VRBO or Booking.com.

How to get around?

Uber is the best way to get around in Florida! It is SOOO cheap in comparison to New York Uber rides.

To Do:

Pick a theme! The theme of our FUN weekend was the Final Flamingle! Purchase decorations to make the Airbnb super cute in Florida or at home.
Shop! When you arrive in Florida, go to the grocery store and buy a few meals and alcohol for everyone. We had a TACO night, a PIZZA night, and a MIMOSA brunch at our Airbnb. You will need to get ingredients before guests arrive for the weekend.

Check-In:

If you decide to stay at the same spot we did, you can check in at 4 pm. Everyone will get to Florida at different times on Thursday! Once you arrive, relax, settle in, and get unpacked.

Rooftop Bar:

Enjoy pizza and snacks at your Airbnb and then go to Rooftop 1wlo. It is a fun indoor-outdoor rooftop bar with a nice city view. You will find trendy green plants and decor, cocktails and boos, and lounge spaces.

Downstairs, there is a different bar called the Tin Roof you can go to after with live music.

Address: 1 W Las Olas Blvd #700, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Day 2: Friday-

Yoga:

Wake up, make coffee, and have a backyard yoga class. You can use towels for mats and go out by the pool to stretch, breathe, and move from pose to pose.

Brunch:

After the yoga class, enjoy fruit, bagels, scrambled eggs with cheese, muffins, and mimosas!

Boat Day:

At around 12:30 pm, start getting ready to head out to the YACHT! Bring delicious fruity drinks, like High Noon, blue moon, or Coronas. You will have the best day ever swimming in the lake, enjoying cocktails, and dancing on the boat to loud music.

Dinner + Going Out:

After the SUPER fun boat day in the sun, you can enjoy a TACO dinner at the Airbnb and then go to a few bars and clubs, including American Social.

American Social Address: 721 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Day 3: Saturday- Pool or Beach Day!

Spend this day at the pool or beach! You will enjoy your day by swimming, socializing, having an iced coffee or fruity drink, and relaxing. The beaches closest to our Airbnb were Hollywood Beach Boardwalk and Fort Lauderdale Beach. The beaches are beautiful, with palm trees and soft sand!

Happy Hour:

After the pool or beach, go back to the Airbnb and shower. You will then get ready for HAPPY HOUR and snacks at the Wharf. OMG, the Wharf is the CUTEST place because there are many different bars in an outdoor setting and the vibe is immaculate. At the Wharf, I had a pina colada and mini cheeseburgers.

Wharf Address: 20 W Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Dinner:

After happy hour, head to Here and Now for dinner. There are delicious tapas and appetizers that you can all share! I loved the Brussels sprouts and their chicken parm sandwich. The margarita on the rocks with salt was delicious. The planners picked this place for dinner because it is within walking distance from The Wharf. Honestly, you can pick ANY restaurant along Las Olas Blvd and you will be HAPPY with your decision! 🙂
Here and Now Address: 433 NW 1st Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Day 4: Sunday- Flight home!

On this day, if your flight is early, go directly home; however, if you have time, spend your morning at the BEACH because where else would you want to be on a LOVELY beach trip? If you go to the beach as I did, head back to your accommodation before checkout, so you can have time to clean and get the sand off with a warm hot shower.

The perfectly planned weekend was a lot of fun! Have you ever been to Fort Lauderdale? What was your favorite part? Are you looking for more things to do in Florida?

US National Park Bucket List

US National Park Bucket List

The US National Parks are beautiful landscapes to add to your bucket list. There are a total of 63 US National Parks. Each National Park has a natural beauty you might not see every day.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL when visiting any National Parks. GO WITH someone or a group of people, and do not lose sight of them. There are more than 1,000 people that go missing from US National Parks every year.

My Experience:

I LOVED visiting the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Everglades, Joshua Tree, Redwood, Petrified Forest, and the Virgin Islands! Don’t go to the Gateway Arch in Missouri. I went to the top of the Arch, and it is not the greatest view.

The Grand Canyon was formed naturally by dirt, mud, and water carving through the Colorado River. I recommend hiking down a 1.8-mile trail to get to Ooh Aah Point, visiting the lookout at Mather’s Point, and going to Horseshoe Bend.

Zion National Park is home to high red rock cliffs, slot canyons, and incredible scenery!

Arches National Park felt as though you were on a different planet. I highly recommend walking to the Sand Dune Arch. Other famous hikes to experience include the Double Arch Trail, Landscape Arch, and the Elephant Butte.

Bryce Canyon is stunning. I have never seen anything so incredible. How were the hoodoos formed? Water erosion is responsible for the hoodoos. The rock types are limestone, siltstone, dolomite, and mudstone.

The Everglades National Park is the third largest national park in the US at 2,500 square miles. This national park is an alligator-infested slow-moving swamp that is 60 miles wide.

St. Thomas is the perfect Caribbean destination. In the National Park, you can swim among wild sea turtles and schools of fish at Brewers Bay or enjoy Pina Coladas at the bar at Magen’s Bay.

Below we list a checklist of the National Parks to cover; however, in a future post, I will go into more detail about each.

Utah is a unique state to visit in the United States based on my own experience and research that I have done! Did you know? There are a total of 5 national parks in this state. The cliffs, mountains, and waterfalls are spectacular. Below are the top 10 places to visit in Utah.

1- Zion National Park-

the narrows in zion national park
Photo by Grace Wojciechowski on Pexels.com

You will find red rock cliffs, slot canyons, and incredible scenery. The high cliffs of Zion formed four million years ago through a process where rock layers were broken, pushed up and on their side, eroded, and cracked. Observation Point and the Canyon Overlook are the hikes that I went on. The entire rest of the park was closed off at the time due to Covid. According to research, popular hikes that we did not get to that I would like to see one day include Angel’s Landing, The Narrows, and Weeping Rock.

2- Lake Powell-

Lake Powell is a reservoir made by humans. The lake stretches 2,000 miles making it a great place to go kayaking, swimming, wakeboarding, and on a boat. You can also see the breathtaking blue lake by going on various hiking trails nearby.

3- Arches National Park-

5- Mystic Hot Springs-

After Bryce Canyon, drive two hours to the Mystic Hot Springs. The Mystic Hot Springs was empty and beautiful. The Mystic Hot Springs were mystical and oh so hot at 102 degrees. This spot is peaceful.

6- Monument Valley-

Rockefeller is undeniably the most beautiful area in all of NYC during the holidays. Home to an ice-skating rink, Christmas trees, and decorations, it is a sight that you will not want to miss this Holiday Season.

#6: Ice Skating at Battery Park or Rockefeller Center-

Who does not want to go ice skating at night near the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center?

This cruise will get you in the holiday spirit. It is a 1920s-style yacht decked out in holiday décor with Christmas music playing. Everything from cocktails to hot chocolate is available for purchase.
