Paris is a destination that is both iconic and historic. Paris is the capital city of France and is known for its magnificent view from the top of the Eiffel Tower. There are art museums and historic buildings to explore, as well as cute cafes and restaurants to try out! The food is incomparable to any other place, as the croissants and tea are quite delicious.

#1: Eiffel Tower-

Visiting the Eiffel Tower at night is an experience you do not want to miss, as the tower lights up and looks stunning. Did you know? There are 1,665 steps to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower and on every floor, you will find a range of dining and gift-shop options. If you would like to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, then purchase a ticket in person because it is cheaper than buying one online!

#2: Jardin des Tuileries-

Jardin des Tuileries is a free public garden near the Louvre Museum. The garden was created in 1564 and became a public park after the French Revolution. Address: 113, rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris, France

 #3: Louvre Museum –

I highly recommend visiting the world’s largest art museum, as the oil paintings are beautiful and unforgettable. The entrance is 9 euros and is open 9 am to 6 pm Monday-Friday. It is not open on Tuesdays. Address: Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France

#4: Musee d’Orsay-

Visiting Musee d’Orsay is for you if you love art and architecture. This museum holds French art like paintings, sculptures, and photography. This museum is open from Tuesday until Saturday. The first Sunday of the month is free. Address: 1 Rue de la Legion d’Honneur, 75007 Paris, France

#5: Notre Dame Cathedral-

The Gothic Cathedral is temporarily closed.  The Notre Dame Cathedral was burned to the ground on April 15th, 2019. The roof had been destroyed and its upper walls were severely damaged. I was lucky enough to see the Cathedral in June of 2017. They are rebuilding the cathedral and it is expected to be completed in 2024. Address: 6 Parvis Notre-Dame – Pl. • The Baptistery of St. John-This religious building is gorgeous and should be added to your Florence Bucket List. #1: Trevi Fountain-

Visiting the Trevi fountain is a must-see on many travelers’ bucket lists, as it was a landmark in the Lizzie McGuire movie. Okay, but in all seriousness, the Trevi is a powerful example of a Baroque design with a distinctly mythological character. Address: Piazza di Trevi, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

#2: Pantheon-

Reserve your ticket to the Vatican Museum in advance to save time. The best way to see the museum is with a guided tour in that they offer a host of knowledge about the place. Venice is the most picturesque city in Italy. It is a city surrounded by canals and over 400 bridges. There are many unique things to do in the city that I will list below!

#1: St. Mark’s Square-

St. Mark’s Basilica is the most famous church in Venice to visit. The church is unique, as it has a mix of influences. The beautiful domed ceilings and gold-leaf mosaics stand out the most.

#2: Doge’s Palace-

Did you know? The Doge was also known as a chief magistrate elected for life by Venetian nobles. This palace is where the doge lived. Now the Palace is home to a museum and happens to be one of the most famous landmarks in Venice to date.

#3: Cross the Bridge o Sighs- 

The Bridge o Sighs was created out of white limestone that spans the Rio di Palazzo in Venice. It once led to a Venetian prison. It was a convict’s last sight before losing their freedom. Hence the “sighs” as they passed.

#4: Basilica di San Marco-

Basilica di San Marco is the most famous church in Venice to visit. The church is unique, as it has a mix of influences. The beautiful domed ceilings and gold-leaf mosaics stand out the most.

#5: Ponte di Rialto-

The Ponte Di Rialto Bridge is one of the most famous ones in Venice because the architecture of it and the fact that the view at the top of it is breathtaking.

#6: Basilica di Santa Maria Della Salute-

Venice suffered the bubonic plague in the 17th century. Post plague, Venetians built this basilica to honor Virgin Mary, who they believe saved them from much worse. The result was a beautiful baroque-style structure with a dome. This building has become an iconic part of the Venetian skyline.

#7: Gondola Ride-

Float through the canals and under bridges on a boat or a Gondola for the best adventure in Venice. A friendly, knowledgeable tour guide who happens to sing is an experience you will remember forever.

#8: St Mark’s Campanile-

The observatory deck at the top of Marco Campanile has a fabulous view of Venice. Did you know? Drones are not allowed in Venice. The observatory deck will be the best view that you will get!

Stop 5: Venice, Italy to Athens, Greece

Athens, the capital of Greece, is one of the oldest cities in the world because it has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, landing the earliest presence on earth. The remarkable city is known for its artists, cultural impact, and history. It is also known for being the birthplace of democracy and the motherland of western civilization.

#1: Acropolis of Athens-

The Acropolis is an ancient citadel or old city located on a rocky outcrop with beautiful views above Athens. The Acropolis in Greek means “The Sacred Rock, The High City’ and is primarily dedicated to the Goddess Athena. The remains consist of ancient buildings, and the most famous monument is the Parthenon, pictured above. The Parthenon continues to be a symbol of democracy and the Greek Civilization. The Acropolis is known for the Theater of Dionysus Eleutherius. The theatre is the world’s first theater.

#2: Plaka-

Plaka is the old town of Athens and is absolutely stunning. It is located near the Acropolis.

#3: Temple of Olympian Zeus-

This archeological site is a 15-acre park southeast of the Acropolis and includes a temple consisting of 104 pillars dedicated to the god Zeus. This temple was built in the 6th century B.C. and finished in the 2nd century A.C. by the Roman Emperor, Hadrian. The monument was made of limestone and covered in stucco. King Zeus is known to be the god of the sky and thunder. He is the king of all other gods and men or the chief figure in Greek mythology.

#4: Ancient Agora of Athens-

This ancient ruin, now a museum, was a political center where they taught Socrates and democracy was born. The Stoa of Attolos is a reconstructed building that serves as a museum for the archaeological site. ‘Stoa’ is also known as a covered walkway. However, there are still points of the original building that have been untouched. The original was built by King Attalos II of Pergamon, who ruled between 159BC and 138BC. The original building was destroyed by Heruli, which is a German tribe. Other monuments within this archeological site include the Temple of Hephaestus.

Stop 6: Athens to Santorini

Santorini, a volcanic Greek island, is truly one of the most breathtaking places I have ever been to. I enjoyed exploring the unique white and blue villages surrounded by beautiful deep blue waters. Santorini is a dream destination because it has incredible landscapes and awesome things to do.

#1: Akrotiri-

If you are fascinated by archaeology, then a tour at the Ancient Akrotiri is for you to experience. History lovers will be intrigued by what you can discover by visiting this museum. This archaeological zone is a small 3,600-year-old village occupied since 5000 BC. You will see buildings once covered in meters of lava and destroyed due to the volcanic explosion. The buildings were rebuilt and now the city is in great condition even after thousands of years.

#2: Red Beach-

There are many different beaches to swim at in Santorini. Two famous beaches to visit are Red Beach and Perissa Beach. The beaches are volcanic, which means they will have black or red rocks. The beaches tend to be very hot over the feet. The atmosphere is unique and one I recommend.

#3: Persia black Sand Beach-

If getting into the water is your idea of a great time, then a trip to Perissa Beach is for you. There are a variety of water sports you can experience, including waterskiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, or riding on a banana boat. Perissa Beach is the main center for water sports.

#4: Santo Winery-

Santorini has been producing wine since ancient times. The red wine is less desired. Give their white or sparkling wine a try! The most famous wine is Assyrtiko, a dry white wine that pairs well with seafood. -Winery Tour: Visit three different wineries with this wine-tasting tour in Santorini!

#5: Sunset in Oia-

Oia is a town located in Santorini with some of the best sunsets. This place is especially magical because it has stunning views of the water. There are restaurants and bars to try, and also unique boutiques to go shopping. Ari and I were lucky enough to witness the infamous sunset while enjoying a glass of Greek wine and dessert at a traditional Greek restaurant. That concludes the adventure.
